2012, 2013 & 2014 Chevrolet Camaro V6 K&N Air Intake System is 50-State Street Legal

K&N 57-3078 FIPK Performance Air Intake for 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6L V6

The K&N 57-3078 FIPK Performance Air Intake is 50-state street legal for 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6L V6 models

The pony car competition between Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge has evolved into an epic story. Over the last 50 years, the Big 3 American automotive manufacturers have grappled with styling, safety, comfort, handling and horsepower as their weapons of war. Each team has had the lead at some point in time with no one claiming ultimate victory. Recently, the battle turned its eyes to yesteryear with retro-inspired releases and the rivalry became as hot as it was in the late 1960’s. The 5th generation Camaro made a big entrance in 2010 with sharp styling and superb performance from both its V6 and V8 powered models. Chevrolet successfully created a new generation of bowtie fans and reminded previous generations why they fell in love with the Camaro.

Black 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6L V6 with K&N Air Intake System

With 323 horsepower, the direct-injected 3.6 liter V6 in the Fifth Gen Camaro is no slouch, but there’s still room for more performance with K&N street legal air intake 57-3078

With 323 horsepower, the direct-injected 3.6 liter V6 in the Camaro is no slouch especially considering the 4th generation Camaro’s LS1 5.7 liter V8 was rated at 305 horsepower. It’s quite apparent that factory engine performance has greatly increased in recent years, but there’s still room to coax a few more ponies from your Camaro’s power plant with the K&N 50-state street legal performance air intake system, number 57-3078. The 57-3078 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6 liter V6 K&N air intake was granted an exemption order (EO) by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) making it 50-state street legal with CARB EO# D-269-49.

A K&N reusable high-flow air filter, number RC-5107, replaces the enclosed factory air box to supply a large filtration surface area and help to minimize restriction in the airflow pathway

The 57-3078 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6 liter V6 K&N air intake is an easy-to-install performance upgrade for all 2012-2014 Chevy Camaro V6 models. Factory air intake systems are often convoluted and the factory system on the Camaro is no exception. A roto-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) air intake tube replaces the factory ducting which helps to streamline airflow into the engine. The tube also makes accommodations for the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and crankcase ventilation lines so all required connections are maintained.

On the dyno on a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6 liter V6 equipped with K&N street legal air intake 57-3078 produced an estimated additional 13.1 horsepower and 14.4 pound-feet of torque

A K&N reusable high-flow air filter, number RC-5107, replaces the enclosed factory air box to supply a large filtration surface area and help to minimize restriction in the airflow pathway. K&N air filter RC-5107 provides excellent engine protection from harmful contaminants in the air and the filter is also washable and reusable. It can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. An application specific air filter heat shield shrouds the air filter, protecting incoming air from radiant heat under the hood. Cooler air is denser, and thus gives your engine the potential to make more power.

K&N air intake systems deliver superior performance through superior airflow and the 2012-2014 Chevy Camaro V6 K&N air intake 57-3078 certainly delivers in the performance department. On the dyno on a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6 liter V6 equipped with K&N air intake 57-3078 produced an estimated additional 13.1 horsepower at 5800rpm and 14.4 pound-feet of torque at 4700rpm over the factory induction system. These power gains are measured at the wheels, and testing was conducted on an otherwise stock vehicle. No additional modifications are required for the 57-3078 to fit and function properly or make additional horsepower.

More ponies for your prized pony car are just around the corner with K&N performance air intake system 57-3078. It is guaranteed to provide a street legal increase in horsepower for 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro 3.6 liter V6 models and comes backed by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. Installation can be completed in approximately 90 minutes or less with basic hand tools. 2011-2014 Chevrolet & GMC Duramax K&N Air Intake System is 50-State Street Legal

K&N 57-3077 performance air intake system for the Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra Duramax

The 57-3077 2011-2014 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra Duramax intake includes a performance designed intake tube & oversized air filter to help streamline airflow into the turbocharger

In the 1990s and early 2000s, GM ran an advertising campaign dubbed “Like a Rock,” promoting the durability of their trucks and how owners of Chevrolet trucks were strong and independent. The campaign proved to be one of the most successful for GM and while that campaign ended in the early 2000s, the legacy of toughness has continued long after the last advertisement aired. The 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD Duramax diesel pickups epitomize the durability of GM trucks with fully-boxed frames, Allison transmissions, improved suspension, massive towing/hauling capacity and the Duramax 6.6L diesel engine with mountains of torque.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD can take a K&N air intake system

2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 as well as GMC Sierra 2500 HD & 3500 Duramax diesel pickups epitomize the durability of GM trucks

Auto manufacturers usually sacrifice airflow in order to keep under hood noise to a minimum. This is what makes aftermarket air intakes, like those from K&N filters, so effective. However, in many U.S. states diesel-powered vehicles have to meet emissions standards similar to gasoline-powered cars and trucks. Thankfully, the K&N 57-3077 performance air intake system for the Chevrolet and GMC truck models listed below has received an exemption from the California Air Resources Board (CARB), # D-269-49, making this air intake system 50-state street legal.

The K&N 2011-2014 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra Duramax intake air filter is placed near the factory cold air fender well inlet to draw cooler air from outside the truck

The 57-3077 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD Duramax diesel performance intake is an easy-to-install performance upgrade, comes with all components necessary for installation, and replaces the entire factory intake system from the turbocharger forwards. A precision-engineered, high-density polyethylene intake tube replaces the corrugated factory tube, helping to reduce turbulence and streamline airflow into the turbocharger. The K&N air intake tube comes with provisions for one or both intake sensors, depending on the factory setup.

Dyno chart of the K&N 57-3077 performance air intake system installed into the Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra Duramax

On the dyno on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 6.6 liter turbo diesel equipped with the 57-3077 K&N air intake produced an estimated additional 19.3 horsepower and 44.6 lb-ft of torque

A massive K&N reusable air filter, number RC-5179, is fitted to the end of the K&N air intake tube replacing the factory air box and restrictive disposable air filter. This diesel specific oversized conical K&N air filter is designed to provide a large surface area, provide high airflow and ensure exceptional engine protection. Diesel intake air filter RC-5179 has been tested in house and shown to be exceptionally efficient with an overall filtration efficiency rating of 99.49%. This air filter is also washable and reusable, capable of going up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. An application specific air filter heat shield with lid shrouds the air filter from radiant heat under the hood, and the filter is placed near the factory cold air fender well inlet to draw cooler air from outside the truck.

These big turbo diesel engines require a lot of air, and will thank you for any modifications that help to minimize restriction in the airflow pathway by rewarding you with more power. This is exactly the case with the K&N 57-3077 Duramax diesel performance air intake system. On the dyno on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 6.6 liter turbo diesel equipped with the 57-3077 K&N air intake produced an estimated additional 19.3 horsepower at 2420 rpm and 44.6 pound-feet of torque at 2300 rpm over the factory air intake system. Those are massive power gains, to the wheels, showing how positively these big diesel engines react to less restriction from a K&N performance diesel air intake.

K&N intake systems are designed to go the distance, just like the mighty Duramax diesel engine, and are backed by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. K&N also guarantees an increase in horsepower and torque on the Duramax models listed below with the installation of K&N air intake 57-3077. Give your Chevrolet or GMC HD truck a substantial boost in performance with the K&N 57-3077 air intake system and order yours today at KNFilters.com or find a dealer in your area using the K&N Dealer Search.

The 57-3077 will deliver a lifetime of improved performance on the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD truck models listed below:

K&N Sponsored Champion Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Ford Performance revealed the 2016 competition Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR drift car at the 2015 SEMA Show

K&N air filters sponsored World Champion Drifter and Professional Funhaver, Vaughn Gittin Jr. along with Dave Pericak, global director of Ford Performance, unveiled the competition-spec 2016 Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR drift car at Ford Motor Company’s annual press conference at the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In January 2015, Vaughn unveiled his prototype competition car, which the team used throughout 2015 as a platform to meticulously develop the new competition-spec drift car for the 2016 Formula Drift season. The competition car, built on the globally-available 2016 Ford Mustang platform and prepared at the RTR special projects lab in Charlotte, North Carolina, utilizes the fully independent suspension design featured in the all-new Ford Mustang, coupled with Nitto NT05 tires ensuring Vaughn will have the traction he needs to drive in excess of 100 mph sideways on any track.

Early in 2015, Vaughn unveiled his prototype competition car, which was used throughout 2015 as a platform to develop the new competition-spec drift car for the 2016 Formula Drift season

“It’s incredible to see how much drifting has progressed on all fronts in the last 10 years, it’s just crazy, the things we are doing on the track these days and I am pumped to have such an awesome car that will enable us to continue pushing the envelope,” said Vaughn Gittin Jr. Consistent with Ford’s internal initiatives, the RTR team utilized modern light-weight technology by using composites and other light metal alloys to drop the car to a near 2,800lbs wet weight with a 50/50 front to rear weight distribution.

Under the hood is a 436 cubic-inch Ford Performance/Roush Yates-built engine that revs to 9000 RPM and makes over 900 horsepower via individual throttle body injection breathing through dual K&N Performance Air Filters E-3035. Vaughn shared his excitement about the car saying, “It’s crazy to think that I’m driving the equivalent of a 9-second drag racing car…sideways. Needless to say, I’m pumped to get out there and have some fun!” The competition-spec 2016 Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR drift car will make its competition debut in April at the first round of the Formula Drift Championship series in Long Beach, California.
