The BMW M135i is the successor to the 1-series M coupe, which is out of production. K&N has continued to work toward staying at the forefront of racing technology by providing more innovative and adaptable parts. It is out of this dedication that K&N is proud to release the 100-8558 and 100-8559 air box assemblies. Both of these assemblies come with the large washable and reusable 100-8564 air filter, the solid carbon fiber 100-8590 base, 6 spring clips, a set of 4 air horn seals and air horn seal attachment screws.
The difference between the two assemblies is the included air horn seal inside diameters. The 100-8558 comes with four 2-1/2" inside diameter air horn seal adapters and 100-8559 comes with four 2-3/4" inside diameter air horn seal adapters. To use the horn seal adapters, you cut out 4 oval openings, aligned to each set of injector stacks in the solid carbon fiber 100-8590 base and bolt each adapter to the carbon fiber base.

The cotton air filter medium used in K&N air filters improves air flow with its

Each assembly is constructed from ultra-light weight carbon fiber. A Carbon Fiber Injector Stack Filter provides more than needed airflow while also providing the filtration and efficiency that K&N’s filter have become known for. Once the base and air horn seals have been put in place, simply slip the main filter assembly over the stacks and secure with the supplied spring clip clamps keep the filter securely attached for positive seal and ease of servicing.

"The real inspiration for these modern day Trans Am's, mainly came from the fact that GM dropped the ball, and we feel there is still a strong desire to drive a modern day TA," said Street. "The obvious main modification, is the Z/TA Trans Am body package including a functional shaker scoop that feeds additional cold air into a K&N cold air intake system, followed by aftermarket wheels and a drop spring kit." When asked what the public thought about the conversion packages, Street mentioned that the vehicles are truly unique.

Steve Bucaro's SEMA featured 400cc Pilot Class Buggy
Steve "Wheels" Bucaro is a growing personality in the off-road racing world. Wrapping up a 2012 season with multiple 1st place finishes, the rear bumper of Steve's 1989 400cc Honda Pilot FL440 is becoming a common site for other racers. At the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Steve's buggy allowed spectators a rare view of seeing it close up and from the front.

"I had started and run Check Me Out Customs doing retail from home...but my dream has always been to race," said Steve. "So I bought something I could afford and didn't have to modify to drive." Bucaro is also a 14 year veteran of the SEMA show and no rookie when it comes to building custom trucks. "Building a SEMA vehicle is awesome as well as stressful," said Steve. "I think I've gotten more experience as the years go by. Having been the only person in a wheelchair out there building trucks has put me on the map. I enjoy trucks and whether its air bagged or lifted, just trucks!"

Bucaro is currently working on a project 1999 Chevy Dually and upon completion is expected to be featured in Truckin' Magazine. Steve's Honda Pilot also received some great press coverage and feature in the November 2012 issue of Sports ‘N Spokes, a magazine for adaptive sports and recreation.
One of the most important elements in racing is proper vehicle maintenance and when asked what products Steve Bucaro uses, he replied K&N.
