The K&N 77-9034KP intake system is designed to replace the factory air filter, air box, and air intake tube with components which are less restrictive, so that the vehicle's engine performs up to its full potential. Installation of the 77-9034KP is easy, and begins with the removal of the stock intake pieces. In their place go a brightly finished, mandrel-bent aluminum tube, and a large cone shaped air filter that can withstand the abuse of dust and dirt on any trail these vehicles might venture down.

These components have been designed by K&N engineers to be much less restrictive to air flow than their factory counterparts.
With K&N's intake these engines will not waste power trying to pull in the air they need. In addition to being less restrictive, the K&N air filter included in this system (part number RF-1044XD) is protected by a powdercoated steel heat shield, which helps keep intake air temperatures down where they belong.

2010 to 2012 Mazda 3 with a 2.5L L4 engine on our in-house dynamometer. Results
showed horsepower increases with a peak horsepower gain of 6.67 horsepower @ 5,604 RPM! Equally important is the extra 6.25 lb-ft of torque this car picked up at 5,604 RPM.

K&N's new HD air filters are designed to have the same efficiency as the
standard OEM replacement HD filters while flowing up to 15% more air. In
addition, K&N's HD air filters do not require the use of oil and can be
easily cleaned multiple times with power sprayers or commercial parts
washers. This specific filter mounts flange side up within the included 90 degree canister.

The filter itself is a reversed flow filter, engineered to flow the air through the inside to the outside. This
reversed flow heavy duty air filter fits many applications including some Tiffin motor homes.
It has a 7 inch inlet flange and a 7 inch outlet flange. The hybrid filter media is a lofted red color synthetic material on the inside of the filter. This design allows for excellent filtration and engine protection by depth loading dirt and contaminants into the media itself rather than loading it
only on the surface. This is unlike most disposable air filters which only collect dirt and dust on the filtration
outer surface, which can cut off air flow and performance in a shorter
period of time. Restriction also works your engine harder.
Easy cleaning of the 38-2009R
is a key feature of this filter's design. Unlike other K&N products that require gentle washing, the 38-2009R only needs to be removed from its mounting canister and soaked with cleaner on the inside
(dirty side) of the filter, then washed thoroughly with a power sprayer on the outside
(clean side) surface until all of the cleaner and dirt is removed. After
drying the filter is ready for use and backed with K&N's factory warranty for 300,000 miles.
