The Jason Miller Race Team took advantage of the perfect weather and went for the $5,000 to win purse. Driver Jason Miller immediately took the lead on the first lap of the heat race and never looked back. “This guaranteed us a start in the main event,” said Crew Chief Chris Andrews. “Next for us was the Cash Dash which determined the top 8 starting positions.”
The top two finishers from each of the four heats were included in the Cash Dash. Miller started in 4th position and by the time the checkered flag fell on lap 6 he moved up to 2nd place. That position meant he would start on the outside of the front row for the main event.
When the green flag dropped, Miller slipped back to 3rd place. There were several cautions during the first 15 laps. “On lap 15 of the 50 lap main, Jason restarted in 4th place,” said Andrews. “The race stayed green for the remainder of the race and Jason started moving toward the front.”
On lap 38 Miller moved into 2nd place. “With only 12 laps remaining it looked like there was an insurmountable gap between him and the leader,” said Andrews. “Jason put on a charge that no one thought he would be able to finish. With the laps ticking down Jason got up to the bumper of the leader at lap 48.”
Miller pulled under the leader going into the final laps and it was a drag race down the backstretch. As both cars came out of turn 4 to take the white flag, Jason pulled into the lead and just had to hold on for one more lap. Miller took the checkered flag by a car length
for the biggest win of his career.
“We are starting to wrap up our season,” said Andrews. “We run from April through October and we had a very exciting and fun year. None of it is possible without the support of our sponsors, including K&N.”

The Jason Miller Race Team will be back in action this weekend, either at the Rumble by the Lake event at Hesston Speedway in Hesston, Pennsylvania or at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Cody Swanson really wanted to grab his third win in a row driving his Goodwine glass, K&N Engineering Lucas Oil Ford Focus Midget at Kings Speedway in Hanford, California. Unfortunately his USAC race was cancelled.

“I couldn’t say yes fast enough,” said the K&N sponsored teen. “I have been testing with the Van Dynes and their pavement car in preparation to race it, but this was a surprise.”
Swanson qualified in 13th place in the 21 car field at Hanford. During the heat race he quickly learned the Western States drivers are very aggressive. “I started on the pole with my cousin Jake in 2nd place,” said Swanson. “Jake quickly jumped to the lead and held it to the finish. My car was loose and I would slide up the track and get passed. I finished in 5th position.”
A USAC rule for rookies forced Cody Swanson to start the feature in last position. There were two cautions which allowed time for adjustments on the car. On lap 12 the car jumped the cushion and Swanson’s race was over.
Swanson’s next Ford Focus race will be October 17 at Ventura Speedway in California. He hopes to secure 2nd place in year end points in the NO. 71 Goodwine, K&N Filters, Lucas Oil Ford Focus Midget.

K&N Cold Air Intake Installed in Custom 2004 Pontiac GTO
2004 Pontiac GTO owner Brandon Ambrose is yet another addition to the fast and furious crowd that breathes style and performance with every automotive modification. "I've always liked to go fast in everything I drive," said Ambrose. "But with the GTO, its 5.7L V8 is fast already."
Modified 2004 Pontiac GTO
Ambrose bought his GTO in August of 2008. The car was in mint condition with only 50,000 miles on it. "A week or two after I bought it, I tinted the windows 5% all around," said Ambrose. "That same weekend I took second place at the 2nd Annual Amanda S. Cherry Car & Truck Show." It was just the beginning for Ambrose and his custom GTO. "I've showed my car in around 10 car shows since I've had it," he said, "And I've walked away with 7 trophies." Ambrose's trophies include two 2nd place, 1 third place, Best Audio, Top 50 and Top 75. He won first place at the Slam Session Super Show 2009. "When they called my name for first place Pontiac, I was thinking, SAY WHAT?," Ambrose said. "I couldn't help but smile from that point on."
This 5.7 liter Pontiac GTO is equipped with K&N performance intake system 57-3044. "I have been using K&N filters since I had my first car 8 years ago," said Ambrose. "But when I added the K&N cold air intake to my GTO, the increase in power was unbelievable."
Future plans for Ambrose's ride are in the works. "I would like to install a good set of heads and a cam," he said. "I'm going to go with the APS Twin Turbo System."
One of the next big shows for Brandon Ambrose and his custom 2004 Pontiac GTO will be Freak Show 9 sponsored by DropJaw Magazine.
Modifications are as follows:
- K&N High-Flow Intake Kit (#57-3044)
- Pacesetter long tube headers
- 3" Custom exhaust system with flowmaster mufflers
- Custom painted taillights and side markers
- 7" Flip out touch screen receiver

Joel Feinberg captured his first IMSA Lites One championship at Road Atlanta as part of the Petit LeMans weekend at Braselton, Georgia.

The Primetime Race Group owner and driver went into the final event of the IMSA Lites season 27 points ahead of Matt Downs, his nearest competitor. Feinberg only needed 14 points during the double header weekend at Road Atlanta.

The outcome was decided after round 13 when Feinberg outperformed his rivals and clinched the championship by 37 points with one race remaining. Feinberg’s Elan DP-02 found the best balance between aerodynamic speed and mechanical grip for the series win.
“The quest for the championship began nearly ten months ago at the Sebring winter test when he came out with guns blazing and shattered the IMSA Lites track record by 2.4 seconds,” said Britoni Burdett, Primetime Racing’s Corporate Sales and Marketing Manager. “It raised the bar for his field of 25 competitors.”
At the onset of the season in March Feinberg returned to Sebring to dominate once again in round one with the fastest lap of the week and the team’s first win of the season. A tire blowout prevented back-to-back wins in round two.
“Primetime Racing’s other three drivers, Anthony Nicolosi, Jarrett Boon and Johnny Meriggi helped Joel deliver the most competitive field since the series began in 2006,” said Burdett. “The five car team of Eurosport led by three brothers, Matt, Lucas and Antonio Downs were a thorn in the side of Primetime and the two teams were in a great battle all year.”
Feinberg and the Downs family shared the podium at nearly every event, trading the top step from track to track. Nicolosi, Boon and Meriggi found their grove and followed the pace and direction set by Feinberg who came back with wins in rounds 6, 7, 9 and 10. “In rounds 11 and 12 Joel took a no mistake approach,” said Burdett. “It was different from his usual kill mode driving style.”
“Mosport does not forgive the greedy,” said Feinberg. “I worked hard all year to get to this position and sometimes you have to bite your lip and think of the bigger picture.”
Feinberg, who competes in back to back races in the American Le Mans Series, logged 9 podium finishes including 5 wins, 3 pole positions and 215 championship points on his way to his first ever drivers championship. The team used its GT2 Viper in the ALMS effort.
The IMSA Lites is a championship comprised of 14 rounds at seven tracks in North America including Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida, Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City, Utah, Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville Ontario, Canada and New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey.
“When I look back at the season and see what the team accomplished over a ten month period, I’m truly grateful for every point we earned as a team,” said Feinberg. “Anyone can win a race, but only a winner can win the championship. I want to thank all my sponsors, Louis Moinet Timepieces, Bryan Mark Financial, Speedware Motorspots, Motul, Chase Cam, Braille Battery, Popular Science Magazine and K&N Filters for all of their support.”
“The K&N air filters we use in the Primetime races always work flawlessly,” said Joe Henry, Primetime Chief Engineer. “We never have to worry about the performance of the K&N products. K&N provides the highest quality filters which help increase horsepower and helps guarantee the performance we need in our race cars.”
Primetime has started to plan its 2010 season with the hopes of a transition in the ALMS effort from the GT class and into prototypes.
Big changes were made to the Escape, Mariner, and Tribute line of compact SUVs for 2009. A decision was reportedly made at Ford Motor Company to provide more power and better performance for its line of small SUVs, while using less fuel. Revisions ranged from increased horsepower, a more efficient six-speed automatic transmission, improved aerodynamics, lower rolling resistance and revised suspension.
All this combines to give Escape, Mariner, and Tribute SUVs better performance and a car-like EPA fuel mileage rating. K&N also seeks to help increase performance, while helping the environment with lifetime replacement air filter, part number
E-1990.

K&N’s E-1990 is made from cotton and never needs to be replaced. K&N air filters provide less restriction than typical original equipment air filters, which can increase the efficiency of the combustion process, creating more horsepower and torque.
The unique design makes this K&N replacement air filter an easy, and ecological, performance add-on for your 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012 Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, and Mercury Mariner models with a 3.0-liter V6 engine. Almost as if in a throw back to K&N’s environmentally friendly nature, the flower-like appearance of part number E-1990 is both distinctive and functional. This air filter’s clover-like rounded edges, and internal seals, help to ease installation while providing a secure seal.
K&N invented a special low-restriction air filter that is washable and reusable. Allowing your engine to breathe easier can give your car extra horsepower and extra acceleration that can come in handy, even during every day driving. This air filter will require cleaning every 50,000 miles under normal highway driving conditions. It will provide outstanding engine protection for the life of your vehicle, and since it never needs to be replaced, part number E-1990 will help to reduce waste.
