K&N Engineering has designed a cartridge oil filter (PS-7013) for several Mercury, Mazda and Ford models from 2003 through 2009. K&N Cartridge Oil Filters are designed to trap harmful contaminants, provide high oil flow rates and excellent filtration.

The PS-7013 has a replacement gasket and a metal washer. These items ensure a positive seal on the cartridge housing to the engine block. Simply remove the vehicle's oil filter and housing and put the K&N cartridge and gasket in its place.

K&N's Cartridge Oil Filters are constructed to meet the needs of owners who want the best filter available on the market today. Our cartridge oil filters are covered by a limited warranty to be free of defects in material and workmanship when installed and replaced using the engine and equipment manufacturer's recommended service intervals.

Frenchville, Pennsylvania Big Block Dirt Modified Racer No.1 with K&N

Racing was big on the agenda Father’s Day weekend for the Rougeux Motorsports Team. The first competition was at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania where Del Rougeux started off by drawing a good position for the heat race events.

Rougeux started in third place at the first heat. The Big Block Dirt Modified racer ran his 2007X Bicknell Chassis with K&N Engineering air and oil filters. Rougeux charged into the lead and held on for the win. This was the Frenchville, Pennsylvania racer's second Lernerville Speedway heat race victory of the year.

“The K&N Products we use are second to none,” said Rougeux. “We race in very dusty conditions. K&N Keeps the dirt out of my carburetor. Our K&N air and oil filters work every time.”

The Modified feature event began with Rougeux on the pole. He led the first 11 circuits before losing the lead to Kevin Bolland. Rougeux took the lead back on lap 12 and continued to fight off Bolland’s challenges to lead laps 13 through 23. Rougeux was eventually passed by Brian Swartzlander and finished in third place.

The next night of competition occurred at Sharon Speedway in Hubbard, Ohio. The Rougeux Motorsports Team took the lead and went on to capture its second heat race victory of the weekend. In the feature, Rougeux finished in third place. He continues to lead the Modified Divisional Point Standings as a result of his two feature wins and consistent top five finishes.

IHRA Racer also uses K&N Filters on Daily Driver and Tow Vehicles

Duck Tape Racing competes in several racing series and often faces scheduling conflicts. On Father’s Day weekend, Michael Beard had two options. He could chase Summit Super Series points at Pageland Dragway, in Pageland, South Carolina, or compete in a two day IHRA Summit Pro-Am Tour Stock eliminator event in Kinston, North Carolina.

Beard decided to skip the qualifying day at Kinston and race at Pageland on Saturday. “The results were disappointing,” he said. “However, all but one of the competitors in the Top 5 fell in the opening round. I only dropped to 2nd in the chase for points.”

On Sunday, Beard raced at Kinston without a qualifying run and was placed in the bottom of the pack. His first round opponent red-lighted and he advanced six rounds to face off Division 9 points leader Scott Macy in the finals. “I broke out by just .002 seconds and had to settle for runner-up,” said Beard. “I’ve jumped to 7th place in Stock eliminator.”

Beard uses K&N Engineering products. “K&N filters are not just for race cars,” he said. “Towing is hard on vehicles, too. I use the same K&N oil filters on my daily driver and tow vehicles as I do on the race cars. It’s piece of mind, because I have premium protection for everything I drive. While changing the oil on my tow vehicle, I discovered that I had misplaced my oil filter wrench. With K&N oil filters, that’s not a problem. The filters incorporate a nut on the top, which makes removing filters easy with a standard wrench. K&N means convenience, protection and performance.”

Beard’s national event schedule starts this weekend at Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Father's Day Weekend Ends with Runner-up Finish at Dirt Cup for K&N Racer

Chico, California’s Jonathan Allard did everything he could to win the 36th annual Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway near Burlington, Washington. The defending King of California fought through adversity Father’s Day weekend to win a third straight Dirt Cup, but brought home second place.

On the final night of action, Allard had the pole position for the A-main. There was a lot of wet weather and the track was very fast. He scored a second place finish in the scramble.

In the 40 lap main, the K&N No.0 was one of the fastest cars on the track. Allard worked the bottom and kept the other competitors at bay. He was able to work through lapped traffic but his toughest competitors were right on his back.

With just under 15 laps remaining, Jeff Hodgson went to the inside and boxed Allard in. A couple of laps later Allard got a break as the caution came out. Allard hit the restart perfectly but on lap 34 he had to deal with Hodgson again. Midway through the corner, Hodgson swung wide and forced Allard to save his car from spinning out. Allard could not make it back in time and had to settle for second place.

Allard was disappointed with the finish, but overall he has not been out of the top five in a main event since May 19. “We use K&N Engineering Oil and Air Filters along with K&N’s Carbon Fiber Air Box,” said Allard. “K&N makes the best products, the oil and air filters are easy to use and maintain. Racing is easier with K&N.”

Allard and the Williams Motorsports Team return to California this week for the Golden State Challenge Series at American Valley Speedway in Quincy.

K&N Engineering has designed a new 77-Series Performance Air Intake System (77-3064KTK) in textured black for the 2006 GMC Topkick and 2006 Chevrolet Kodiak. K&N dynamometer test show a horsepower gain of 10.01 @ 2944 RPM for this air intake.

K&N replaces the original intake assembly with an all-new air intake design. The new system draws air from under the OE fresh air inlet through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter (RC-5165) that never needs to be replaced.

A powder coated steel heat shield mounts in place of the stock airbox and protects the chrome top cone shaped K&N air filter from engine heat. Air travels through a black textured powder coated aluminum tube and a 90-degree angled silicone hose that is attached to the throttle body.

It takes less than 90 minutes to install this cold air intake with simple hand tools. K&N Performance Intake Systems are designed to improve engine performance along with under the hood visual appeal.
