K&N Engineering has designed a 77-Series Performance Air Intake Kit (77-1554KP) with a polished metal tube for the 2007 and 2008 Dodge Nitro 3.7 liter V6 engine. K&N dynamometer test show an 11.64 horsepower gain @ 4270RPM.

K&N replaces the Nitro's original intake assembly, including the airbox, air filter and intake tube with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a large K&N High-Flow Air Filter (RF-1041) that increases airflow and filtering capacity, and never needs to be replaced.

A powder coated steel heat shield replaces the stock air box. It protects the chrome top cone-shaped K&N Air Filter and isolates it from engine heat for better performance.

The 77-1554KP can be installed in 90 minutes or less and is backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Washington to Host Dirt Cup

Chico, California’s Jonathan Allard competed with the Golden State Challenge Series on Monday night at Medford’s Southern Oregon Speedway. The sprint car racer brought home his seventh straight finish of second or better.

Early on it looked as if he might have come in first instead of second. Allard started the 30 lap main on the outside of the second row in his K&N Filters No. 0. He quickly moved into third place and by the second lap he slid under Brent Kaeding to move into second. He was on the back bumper of leader Roger Crockett by lap five.

With only seven laps to go, it looked as if Allard had the opening he needed. Kaeding was strung out on the high side of turn two and had a car directly in front of him. Allard drove right below Kaeding, but another car moved to the bottom and blocked him. The Defending King of California could not make up the ground he lost and settled for second place, just a couple of car lengths behind Kaeding.

“We lost the power steering pump during the race and I had a hard time steering,” said Allard. “We’ll take a second place, my crew worked hard.”

Jonathan Allard and Williams Motorsports will be back in action tonight with the K&N Filters No. 0 as the 36th annual Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway begins.

"We use K&N Engineering Oil and Air Filters along with K&N’s Carbon Fiber Air Box,” said Allard. “K&N makes the best products, the oil and air filters are easy to use and maintain. We just wash, assemble and race and we never have to worry about performance.”

K&N has constructed the filter assembly (100-8570) from carbon fiber to fit from 2" to 2 5/8" Hillborn, Kinsler and Engler stacks. This allows racers to eliminate clamping a filter on to each individual ram tube. Once the base is in place, simply slip the main filter assembly over the stacks.

K&N Engineering has released a 69-Series Typhoon Air Intake (69-1016-1TS) for the 2007 and 2008 Honda Fit 1.5 liter engine in powder coated silver. The design of the vehicle played a major role in the development and design. "We made sure that the intake system followed the lines of the Honda Fit," said K&N Project Technician Nestor Cabrera. "There is symmetry between the K&N Typhoon Kit and the engine compartment."

K&N dynamometer tests show a 5.72 horsepower gain @ 5850 RPM for this Typhoon Intake. "We incorporated the factory intake air temperature sensor with our K&N High Flow Air Filter (RU-5163)," said Cabrera. "The K&N Air Filter was designed especially for the Fit's 1.5 liter engine. The heat shield isolates the K&N Air Filter from the engine compartment and keeps the air around it cooled."

It takes about an hour to install this Typhoon Intake Kit with simple hand tools. K&N Typhoon Systems are designed to improve engine performance along with under the hood visual appeal.
