On June 23rd Andrew Caddell will celebrate his 19th birthday. His present came
early this year with his first professional win at Portland International
Raceway in Round Four of the SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup.

Caddell was able to dominate the last part of the race and win by a 6.327 second
margin. After starting on the front row the Graham, Washington racer took the
lead by the third lap. A heated battle began between Caddell and Brad McAllister
of Portland, Oregon.
Jason Saini of Forth Worth, Texas came from behind and took over the lead from
Caddell and McAllister. By lap 11 Caddell took first place back. Caddell powered
away to a 2.096 second lead on lap 12 and continued to open the gap to the
finish on lap 31.
“It felt great to win,” said Caddell. “After I broke out I just sat back and
watched the other racers fight it out behind me.” Halfway through the season
Caddell is in a very strong 4th position in season points and only 4 points out
of 2nd place.
“I started racing when I was 9-years-old,” said Caddell. “I started with karts
and K&N Engineering was part of my life back then. I don’t remember racing
without K&N products. K&N Air and Oil Filters give me a competitive edge.”
Round five and Six of the Mazda MX-5 Cup will take place June 25-27 at Burke
Lakefront Airport as part of the Grand Prix of Cleveland, Ohio.

Brad Kuhn is four for four in the USAC Badger Midget Series. The Avon, Indiana
native scored another victory Sunday night at Angell Park Speedway in Sun
Prairie, Wisconsin.
If he wins next Sunday it would tie him with John Hartwig for the most
consecutive wins to start a season in the series 71 year history. Hartwig set the
record in 1973.

“The whole thing is pretty cool,” said Kuhn. “But I’m my biggest
critic. When we go to any race we always go with the thought of winning. We’ve
had a great start to the season, but we still have a lot of races to go.”
Kuhn started the feature race in the fourth row, with several cars ahead of him.
Jake Slotten flipped on the opening lap of the 30 lap feature. He was not
injured but it caused a complete restart. Mike Hess took the lead with Kuhn
moving into 4th place on the second circuit.
There were two more cautions over the next two laps when Danny Stratton and
Scott Hatton both stopped on the track. On the 5th lap, Kuhn moved into 2nd
place. By lap 10 Hess had a strong lead over Kuhn but the Avon, Indiana racer
caught him within two laps.
Kuhn increased his lead with each lap and finished 6.16 seconds ahead of Hess at
the finish. The USAC Racer uses K&N Engineering Products. “Our engines last a
lot longer with K&N,” said Kuhn. “We notice additional performance and a big increase in power."

David Oenes cinched a victory in the Purifoy Chevrolet Fast 16 Top Dragster
Class over the weekend near Denver, Colorado at Bandimere Speedway. It is one of
the fastest racing series in the Rocky Mountains where cars show off an amazing
display of horsepower and speed as drivers reach speeds up to 210 mph.

“It was probably the hardest victory I have ever won,” said Oenes. “In the
first round I beat our local champion. In the second round I beat Jamie
Schwartzkof, a member of the Wyoming Ethanol Team. I continued to win in the
semis and in the final. Every person I raced is a good driver. It was awesome to
get the victory.”

Oenes drives a 2006 dragster with a 526 cubic inch Chrysler aluminum Hemi. It is

the 2006 Mike’s Transmission Top Dragster Series Race at Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I met David and his family at the track and he is a good racer,” said Fiello.
“He was the number one qualifier in the top dragster class that day. He also had
a lot of questions about K&N and we stayed in touch. I recommended him for a
support sponsorship and he was accepted. He is a good ambassador for K&N.”

Australian Jason Crump refused to give up at Denmark’s National indoor Arena in
Copenhagen despite suffering a major injury in Sweden only two weeks ago.

The 2004 and 2006 Grand Prix Champion claimed only 9 points for the night
and said he feels like the shadow of the rider he was only one year ago.

“I came here to get a good result and close the point gap, but my
performance was pretty average,” said Crump. “I’ve had a bad patch so far this
season and I’m dealing with it. There are seven more rounds to go, so there is
still hope. If I can return to the form I am accustomed to, there is no reason
why I cannot be challenging the leaders again.”
Sweden’s Andreas Jonsson stunned the crowd of 30.000 when he snatched the
victory from Denmark’s Nicki Penderson, Australian Leigh Adams and Polish
veteran Tomasz Gollob.
After 4 rounds Crump is 5th in the World Championship Standings. The 31-year-old
Queenslander uses K&N Engineering products. “I love K&N products, the K&N
Filters are the best in the world,” said Crump. “I have solely used K&N products
and never had a problem. K&N is the best for dirt track racing and does the job
it was made to do.”
Round 5 of the 2007 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship will take place
at Millennium Stadium at Cardiff, Wales on June 30th.

Jonathan Allard is back. After starting the season a little slow the racer and
his Williams Motorsports Team have come around full force to win.

The 36th annual Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway is days away and Allard will
enter the playing field with some very stout runs under his belt. On Saturday he
picked up the 16th Golden State Challenge victory of his career. He is now in
the record books at fourth place on the GSC Series win list.

Allard kicked off the weekend on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway and
finished second in his heat to transfer the K&N No. 0 into the main event.
Allard began the 25 lap feature on the inside of the second row. He took the
lead from Robert Stice never looked back.
“I can’t express enough how much hard work my team puts into this deal and
allows me to just get in it and drive,” said Allard. “This adds up to five wins
at my home track this season.”
On Saturday, the Golden State Challenge Series moved to Petaluma Speedway.
Allard started off solid and won the heat race. In the 30 lap feature, the
defending GSC Champion made his move into second position on lap seven. On lap
nine Allard used traffic to slip under the leader but Brent Kaeding was able to
get around both.
For the rest of the race Allard and Kaeding navigated their way to first and
second place through thick traffic. Kaeding’s engine began to have problems and
Allard took the lead and went on to score the victory.
“With great support from K&N Filters and our crew, we’re excited about heading
up to try and win the Dirt Cup for the third time in a row,” said Allard. “K&N
makes the best products, the oil and air filters are easy to use and maintain.”
No one has won the Dirt Cup three consecutive times and Allard is hoping his
momentum continues. Nearly 60 cars, including all of California’s best are
expected to compete for the $25,000 first place prize. The event starts June
11th and ends on Father’s Day.
