More than 35 years of research and development has made K&N the leader in air filtration technology. K&N Air Filters are washable, reusable and are made of 4 to 6 layers of cotton gauze sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens. Our cotton is treated with a specially formulated grade of oil. This causes tackiness throughout the cotton's microscopic strands.

K&N Engineering's stock air filters for street vehicles are covered by our famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle will ever need.

Malcom drove his No. 92 Nissan Sentra SE-R through rain showers and mud on Sunday. “A car flipped two cars in front of me on the track,” he said. “I was fighting to stay on the course when the other car went end over end and landed hard. When a course is black flagged you think about safety, but you have to believe in your safety gear and hope things like that aren’t going to happen to you.”

The weather affected Malcolm’s visibility on the track. “The cage on my car prevents me from having windshield wipers on my Nissan,’ he said. “The other problem I had involved the intense amount of mud flying everywhere. I couldn’t see the apex on the course. I could however, count on my K&N Air and Oil Filters. K&N gives me more horsepower and keeps the debris out of my engine.”

Malcolm is the points leader in his class at this time. He will race at Willow Springs International Motorsports Park in May.

Bayou Boyz Claims First NHRA National Event Victory

Bayou Boyz Britt Cummings defeated Al Kenny in Super Comp at the 4th annual JEG’s.com NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals at Belle Rose, Louisiana. This was the first NHRA Wally for the team and it happened at the sportsman racer’s home track, No Problem Raceway.

“This is a huge win, and it’s really special to me for a number of reasons,” said Britt Cummings. “We made a plan to include a full NHRA schedule to our racing program. I don’t mean to sound cocky, but at the time my brother Slate, my dad and I felt like we’d experienced a lot of success. We’d always been fortunate on the IHRA side of racing, and we figured a lot of that would just carry over, but for a number of reasons it just hadn’t until now. With three IHRA World Championships and many event wins, we could never seal the deal on the NHRA side, until now.”

Cummings drove his Mullis Race Cars built dragster to the win, knocking off a who’s who list of 8.90 competitors on his way to the title. With three seasons of going winless on the NHRA side, I feel like the monkey is off our back, he said.

Winning this NHRA national event victory was very important to the Bayou Boyz. “Obviously everyone points at Indy, or the Gators or one of the classic events as the race they want to win,” Cummings said. “For me it’s the JEG’s SPORTSnationals. It’s one of the most enjoyable races of the year, and it’s in our backyard at my favorite facility.”

Cummings Motorsports is a family business from Hammond, Louisiana. “Bayou Boyz Racing has ten cars,” said Cummings. “We use K&N Engineering Air and Oil Filters on all of our vehicles. With K&N I’m faster and very consistent. The K&N Filters never give us a problem.”

The Bayou Boyz Cummings Team is off to Tulsa, Oklahoma for an IHRA Division 4 Pro-Am event before continuing their pursuit of multiple championships in both NHRA and IHRA.

Teen Kart Racer Earns First Pole Position of 2007 at California Speedway

Teen kart racer Jacob Pearlman (JP) earned his first pole position of 2007 at California Speedway with the Los Angeles Kart Club. Pearlman was also the fastest kart during the day and had a lead of more than 15 kart lengths during his first HPV-2 race of the year.

During the brief qualifying session JP and two other lead karts caught unexpected lapped traffic on the last circuit. He quickly turned his car into the infield to avoid the traffic jam as the qualifying session ended. “Even though he had to throw away his last qualifying lap he still managed to earn his first pole position of the year,” said Richard Pearlman, Jacob’s father. “My son was a full 6/10ths of a second ahead of the 2nd place qualifier.”

After three warm up laps the green flag waved for the heat race. JP jumped out to the lead as the field dove into the first turn. He won by .34 seconds. “My engine was running great,” said Pearlman. “But my kart setup needed to be better for the main.”

In the 16 lap main event JP jumped out to an early lead. On lap 9 his kart tossed the drive chain. “We’ve been running strong all year, but we’ve had some tough breaks,” Pearlman said. “I know things are going to balance out very soon.”

JP’s next race will be Round 4 of the Gatorz Karting Cup Rotax Max Challenge Presented by Champ Car. “We travel to many different tracks for Jacob’s kart racing,” said Richard Pearlman. “Our GMC Yukon tow vehicle averages 23,000 miles a year, most of it pulling our trailer. Our K&N Engineering Filters and cold air induction system are key parts to making sure that we have the power and reliability to get over steep grades while towing 5000 pounds.”

Campbell qualified in the top 16 at Attica, Ohio on Friday and earned a spot in the dash. During the A-Feature he ran in the top ten. There were problems and the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports crew worked to repair the car in time to complete the race. He was able to finish 18th.

On Saturday the World of Outlaws visited Tri State Speedway in Haubstat, Indiana. Campbell qualified tenth and secured a position in the dash. He battled his way through lapped traffic to a 4th place finish.

“The car felt great this weekend, and I’m really happy with our run at Haubstat,” said Campbell. “It’s good to see things coming together. We’ve made a lot of changes for 2007, but we still rely on K&N Air Filters. I’ve used them for many years and they are the best out there.”

Campbell’s next race will be at Knoxville Raceway this Saturday night.
